The situation is getting worse in Pakistan.

The harsh winter has brought more misery for the poor people displaced by floods and now living in tents and makeshift shelters. They urgently need warm clothing and winter bedding.

Irish Friends of Pakistan is chaired by: the former Mayor of Mullingar, Cllr. Ruth Illingworth, local Peace Commissioner Rashid Butt is Hon. Secretary and June Kelly is the Hon. Treasurer.

As some of you are already aware that Rashid is in Pakistan for this purpose since September 2010.  With your help all the funds raised would be used to help with the relief efforts in wake of the worst floods in Pakistan's history.

The United Nations has declared the floods in Pakistan are worse than the 2004 Asian tsunami, 2005 earthquake in Pakistan and Haiti earthquake all put together in terms of the number of people affected.

According to conservative estimates 2,000 people have died so far in the heavy monsoon rains, and at least 20 million have been badly affected.

This figure is more than the combined total of those affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

All people associated with Irish Friends of Pakistan are volunteers.

Thanks for your help & cooperation.
